Roscoe American Staffordshire Terrier Adult Male in Normandy, Tennessee

My story
ROSCOE is another victim of cancer. No, he doesn't have cancer, but his human mom does, and her treatments have affected her so severely that a good friend has taken her three dogs to live on her farm. Two of the dogs are adapting very well. Roscoe, not so much. He doesn't like horses, has chased the donkey, and is so stressed that he's picking fights with his buddy. Roscoe is used to taking care of his human, being her companion, and receiving love and attention in return. His mom's friend already has her own dog, an older male, and his buddy, Rebel, has taken up with a man that works on the farm. This leaves Roscoe out, and he's feeling it. The friend is making every effort to include him, even bringing him into her work space to be her 'assistant' one day (see photo of him at the table), and he loved it. But he needs more than that. He needs a human to watch over, and care for. He needs a job as a companion. Roscoe is an American Pit Bull Terrier, 7 years old, 100 pounds, fully vetted and HW negative. He is house, crate, and leash trained, but will pull when on a leash. Roscoe is used to being fed, and treated, in his crate as he's a little food aggressive, and comes readily for meals and treats. He knows "sit" and "down", and loves riding in a car, but needs to be clipped in. He is used to living in a rural area, and will hunt small, furry critters. As you can see, in the photos, he loves that kiddie pool! Roscoe is very sensitive to his human mom's emotions, and craves closeness. He loves belly rubs and wrestling around a little. He's never been around young children but likes men as well as women. Roscoe is somewhat dominant with other males but does well with females. He could likely be placed in a home with a female who's not dominant. Roscoe's mom loves him and doesn't want to give him up but can't physically care for him anymore, and wants him to be in a stable, loving home. This is breaking her heart but cancer is no respecter of persons and she has few options. If you would like more information about Roscoe, or would like to meet him, or consider adopting him, please contact Lucky Break Pet Rescue and we'll put you in touch with Roscoe's care giver, and/or mom. He's currently located near Memphis, TN, on a nice farm but is getting into trouble chasing the donkey. Roscoe's adoption fee is negotiable but making sure he is a good fit for your family is not. We will be helping with his placement to insure that he is in a safe, loving home and that he, and his new family, are pleased with each other. Roscoe shouldn't have to lose another family. Losing one is hard enough.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roscoe, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
